As reported recently by various media outlets, there are changes coming to Ontario's safety inspection standards. As of July 1st, a used car will have to be inspected against a new set of expanded standards that will make it more difficult to get a passing grade.
Included in some of the changes are a new report issued to the consumer, inspection of federally mandated equipment such as electronic stability control and airbags, subjected to a road test, and window tinting levels. Many expect 20% of the cars that are tested today would fail under these more stringent requirements.
If you have a car you are looking to sell, or are in the market for a used car, it may be best to do so before the new law comes into effect. Give us a call to give you a hand!
